WHEREAS it is the bounden duty of Kinghts and gentlemen-at-arms to keep their skills honed at the ready should His Majesty call them to battle, and whereas the Noble and gentle ladies of the land are desirous to be entertained by the feats of honor, it is the privilege of the incipient Canton of Readstan to invite all those of noble comportment and lineage to test their mettle on the field of combat. Please join us on the Feast day of Saint Sergius and Saint Bacchus.
There
will be a Grand Processional as well as a Helm Display, when the Ladies
of the Gallery will inspect the helms and determine if the combatants are allowed to enter the lists.
The Contests of the Day: Three individual single elimination tournaments - Greatsword, Mace and Shield, and Barrier fighting either single sword or 6-foot spear. Each bout will be to three counted blows. One 3-man lance tournament, single elimination, under the Melee rules. A Grand Melee, Venans vs. Tenans.
Duties of the Combatant: To fight for the honor of a Lady of the Gallery, to comport themselves in a chivalrous and honorable manner, to engage the services of a Herald and adorn said Herald in a tabard with their arms, to hide any mundanity upon their person, and to display their best tournament armor and banners.
Duties of the Ladies: To be the grace that inspires greatness, to attend to the contests so they may collectively determine the most valiant and most chivalrous, to call to task those who have displeased and to compliment good deeds.
WARNING! This is not your typical SCA tournament day! If a combatant does not meet the minimum requirements as detailed above, they will not be allowed to fight. The Ladies of the Gallery determine the winner of the tournaments, which may not necessarily be the one who won the most fights. It is more important to look good than to kick butt.
The Incipient Canton of Readstan is proud to host their second Pas d'Armes on Saturday, October 7th from 9am to 6pm.

Site Fees: Site fee: $7.00, plus $3.00 surcharge for non-members. Lunch is included in the site fee. Children 5-16 are $3 with no non-member surcharge on children. Infants and toddlers age 0-4 are free. Family cap is $20.00 not including the non-member surcharge. Make checks payable to "SCA-Caerthe" with "Readstan Pas" in the memo.

Directions:
From the North: Take your best route South on I-25 to the Arapahoe Rd. Exit. Travel West on Arapahoe Rd. University Blvd. Turn right heading North to the first stop light on University (Park Entrance). Follow the road through the park and park in front of Goodson Rec Center.
From the South: Take your best route North on I-25 to the Arapahoe Rd. Exit. Travel West on Arapahoe Rd. University Blvd. Turn right heading North to the first stop light on University (Park Entrance). Follow the road through the park and park in front of Goodson Rec Center.
From routes East and West: Take your best route Via I-70, C-470 or E-470 to the junction of I-25 and follow North and South directions.
